Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
   1.  High school graduate or equivalent plus vocational school or technical training courses in a related area.
   2.  More than three years of experience in grounds and athletic fields maintenance.
   3.  Supervision and management of employees.
   4.  Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned duties.
   5.  Valid Colorado driver's and CDL license and be able to qualify for district vehicle insurance.
   6.  Good past record of attendance and punctuality.
Job Goals:
Perform all duties in maintenance of school district sites, including turf, trees, shrubs, parking lots, athletic fields, tracks, playgrounds, concrete and fences.
Essential Job Functions:
   1.  Perform all duties in grounds maintenance including turf maintenance, and maintenance of schools, parking lots, athletic fields, tracks, playground equipment and fences.
   2.  Operate equipment for grounds maintenance, including industrial tractors with attachments, front end loaders, mowers, and other special equipment.
   3.  Perform routine maintenance of sprinkler systems with a variety of components including rotary pop-up and fixed spray sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, water lines, and automatic controls.
   4.  Conduct preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on equipment used by the grounds department.
   5.  Prepare athletic fields for sporting events per CHSAAA guidelines and be available for response to grounds issues during events.
   6.  Communicate schedules and needs with Athletic staff and coaches.
   7.  Handle routine landscaping of athletic fields and school grounds.
   8.  Remove snow on fields, within parking areas, roadways and sidewalks.
   9.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Materials & Equipment Operating Knowledge: 
  1.  Variety of landscaping equipment.
  2.  Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
  3.  Operating knowledge of and experience with office software.
  4.  Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, E-mail, etc.

Salary:
Head Groundsman are a Grade 7 on the Classified Salary Schedule.
- FFC8 allows new hires to bring in up to 8 years of previous experience in similar school type settings.
- Please understand that new hires tend to start out at the lower end of the salary range.

Employment Period:
261 days per year - 8 Hour Work Days
